Mid-South Music Therapy Services is a private music therapy practice created to provide clinical music therapy services to children and adults with various levels of disability. We have specialized training and experience with children 0-22 with severe/profound and multiple disabilities.
Marybeth Brand, MT-BC , owner of Mid-South Music Therapy Services has been a Board-Certified Music Therapist since 1998. She completed her clinical internship at The Community Music School of Boston, which served a number of schools ad human service agencies in the Greater Boston area. Mrs. Brand worked with individuals and groups, from ages 0-older adults. Agencies in her internship include: Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton, MA, a day program for children with severe and profound disabilities, as well as Boston Children's Hospital, Imani House in Mattapan, MA, (a daycare program for children infected/affected by HV/AIDS, and several day treatment programs for adults with mental illnesses and substance abuse issues.
Following her internship, Mrs. Brand created a private practice serving primarily severely disabled children in public and private schools in the Worcester (MA) County area. With the help of Maestro Francis Wada, Artistic Director of the Thayer Symphony Orchestra in Leominster, MA, Mrs. Brand created a music therapy program at the TSO Community Music School, a program that reached out to special needs children in the area who otherwise had no access to music therapy services.
Prior to opening MSMTS, Mrs. Brand was employed at a state psychiatric facility, serving adults with chronic and severe mental illness. She is also a Certified Orff-Schulwerk educator, and a Certified HealthRhythms Facilitator. She looks forward to meeting the needs of children and adults with disabilities in the Western Kentucky and Clarksville, TN/Fort Campbell areas.
